A fun waterfowl hunt in the lower Skagit marshes. The Skagit River’s delta offers world‑class tidal wetland waterfowl habitat. We hunt the marshes below Fir Island and along Skagit Bay — places you can only reach by boat. It’s a style of hunting you won’t find in a field or pit.

A true mixed‑bag hunt. Mallards, pintail, wigeon, and green‑winged teal make up most of what we see. Wood ducks, spoonbills, gadwall, geese and a few other species also show up throughout the season. It’s a great way to add any of these birds to your list.

Small groups, relaxed pace, high‑quality days. I keep groups small and tailor each hunt to the conditions the river gives us. We move when we need to, settle in when it’s right, and make the most of the day. No two hunts look the same — that’s the beauty of the Skagit.

I support youth and family hunting! If conditions allow, I will gladly take a third hunter under the age of 18 along for free.

Early fall hunts overlap with Skagit River coho season, making it a great time of year to experience both a hunt and a salmon trip.
